Configuration Management – Working
directly for a flight project, I am responsible for all configuration
management activities as well as the Information Management activities for that
project. The Configuration Management Engineer (CME) is responsible for
tailoring and implementation of the institutional Configuration Management (CM)
process requirements on assigned CO. X Projects and Independent Division Tasks
that produce hardware/software that will be flown or used in support of a
flight program. Implementation of the CM
process requirements is described in Flight Project Practices at CO. X.
· Information Management –Designing the PIMS information
architecture (structure, user processes, access control) ensuring that all
access privileges comply with ITAR regulations, and CO. X and other organizations requirements
Developing and ensuring implementation of the Controlled Document and Records
Management Process Developing communication and information processes
associated with the information technology applications Interfacing with
institutional services to provide disaster recovery and security policies that
comply with the CO. X Institutional
Security Requirements Ensure that export control guidelines for electronic
communications complying with CO. X and
ITAR /EAR regulations. Review all Project contractor/partner IM Plan(s) before
final approval to ensure they include all applicable schedules and details for
accessing, retrieving, capturing, and transferring CO. X official project information defined on the
Master Document and Records List.
Customer and User Training

User Training - Develop classes, implement class training to cover users needs. Also create and prepare training materials
for all necessary phases of classes.
Keep all logs for users trained and make necessary changes to Users
Manuals, and Training Guides to maintain ISO compliance. Train in small groups
or in formal classroom settings.
· Manage PDMS Help Desk.
Providing first point of contact for users having difficulties using the
system and for users having difficulty with the set up and operation of their
PCs, Unix or Macintosh computers. Created and
maintained user accounts. Perform service calls to assist users with software
installation and other issues. Maintained documentation on all service calls.
Communicate clearly with engineers and programmers. Worked
with all customers using the PDMS system.
· Software testing -Test each new iteration of the system for
functionality and ease of use, in a peer test environment. Recommend changes
and document problem areas, Meet with users on ease of use and functionality
issues.
